Ryusei Ramen and Izakaya: Experience Authentic Ramen and Korean Cuisine in Rockford

We tried the pork ramen, egg rolls, chicken tenders, kimchi fries and Korean cheese dog and all were delicious.

This place feels like a hidden gem! Absolutely incredible food and very friendly staff. This will be a go-to frequent spot for my family to eat. The BEST Ramen I have had. I feel lucky that it is so close to home. I can't wait to try more from the menu!

From what I understand, they are currently operating on a limited menu until next month. I had the chicken tenders with the spicy Gochujang sauce (which was not as spicy as I would like). The chicken tenders were crispy on the outside but tender on the inside. I also had fried chicken gyoza (4 pc.), they were very good. It did come with dipping sauce but not enough for four pieces. Service was friendly and the atmosphere was great. I am excited to see what the full menu will look like.

Absolutely delicious! Kimchi fries is officially the best style of fries. Every bite of the pork ramen was good, especially on a cold, rainy day. I'll be coming back here a lot.

**Update** Had several visits here and everytime has been great. The consistency of the flavors has been a huge factor in my decision to return as often as possible. Still great prices for huge portions. 1st of many visits to come! Great food and very friendly staff. Our food was cooked PERFECTLY and seasoned so well. Very fast service and any questions we had were easily answered. Absolutely loved the Ramen! Huge portions and amazing flavors. We had both the Chicken and the Pork, so can say with confidence that it's all good! The wings were so crisp and the garlic sauce we got for it was super yummy! The dumplings were on point and the KBBQ sauce and cheese corn dog was something new and such a huge surprise of flavors and textures. There are more options for it than on the menu board, so make sure to ask!

Had the chicken teriyaki bowl and egg rolls delivered. The food was great but chicken teriyaki bowl is a little too sweet but enjoyable. The egg rolls were delicious. Cute little note for Halloween!!!

Food was amazing will definitely be coming back!!! They are very nice and play anime on the tv, when I was here they played frieren and there is subtitles so you can watch while you eat! I reccomend the beef bulgogi it’s one of the best things I’ve ever ordered!! Also the atmosphere is amazing too they have anime posters on the walls! Definitely go here!! It’s so cute and the food is just phenomenal!

We've been wanting to stop in since the place opened and finally managed to. We couldn't be happier!! I had the Pork Katsu Curry and I have to say it was better than I could have imagined. I went with mild and it had a nice sweet flavor. You get a generous helping of rive and the pork cutlet is a great size, and nicely fried . The Pork Ramen was delicious as well. Noodles were cooked well and the pork was so tender. Not to mention the BROTH WAS TO DIE FOR. My spouse is very picky about his Ramen and he cleared his bowl. We will be back to try more and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for some good Japansse eats..
